Should You Consider CPAP?

If you suffer greatly from sleep apnea, you may be a prime candidate for a CPAP. Do you snore loudly and disturb your family and friends? Candidacy for CPAP use is made after looking at your medical history and your lifestyle. The proper CPAP pressure must be set during a sleep study.

CPAP machines are only available by prescription

A sleep study at an accredited sleep lab is usually necessary before treatment can start. The CPAP machine must be tailored to a patient's treatment needs. This is later confirmed with a follow up sleep study with a CPAP during which the patient wears the CPAP mask and pressure is adjusted up and down from the prescribed setting to find the optimal setting for the CPAP.
